Giant Roots are massive, twisting root formations that generate in Coarse Islands and Raised Isles biomes. These roots are often covered in leaves and fungus, as well as moss and the various other plants found in the biome. They are capable of reaching great heights, and in some cases stretching out into neighboring biomes.

Composition

Giant Roots consist of:

• Giant Root (block)
• Weedwood Leaves, in branching clusters
• Shelf Fungus, in side formations
• Root, jutting from the top
• Hanger, hanging from the bottom (unseeded)

Mobs

Root Sprites occasionally spawn on Giant Roots. Sporelings can also spawn on the Shelf Fungus found around the roots.

Growing

While natural Giant Roots cannot be grown, smaller formations of them can be grown from Root Pods. These formations consist of:

• Giant Root (block), as the root base
• Root, as the main root
• Swamp Tallgrass, occasionally in patches
• Double Swamp Tallgrass, occasionally in patches
• Cattail, occasionally in patches
• Tall Cattail, occasionally in patches
• Shoots, occasionally in patches
