Description[edit | edit source]
Lurkers resemble crocodiles, particularly their exctinct relatives like Metriorhynchus with their paddle-shaped limbs, streamlined bodies, and finned tails. They also have wounds on their bodies. They spawn in water bodies and swim gracefully, but will wade onto land if necessary in order to chase the player. They will not attack unless provoked, in which this point, all nearby Lurkers will come and aid that provoked Lurker. They will also prey on Anglers and Dragonflies, often leaping out of the water when hunting the latter. When damaged, they take no knockback. Because of their behavior, though, one may prefer to allow Lurkers to live unprovoked, especially when dealing with Anglers who are often too busy attacking the Player first as a high priority over the ever-damaging Lurker. Thanks to this, there's often one-on-one battles between Lurkers and Anglers, and often, the Lurker comes out victorious in these events, dropping the normal Angler loot, as it drops from player and non-player kills, most apparently.
